Turbo XS

Turbo XS has built performance parts for turbocharged cars since 1999, and is best known for its Hybrid blow off valves. Shop Turbo XS Hybrid BOVs, recirculating bypass valves, and valve accessories, plus boost control solenoids for the Subaru WRX and STI and the Mitsubishi Evolution X. You'll also find Turbo XS intercooler kits, charge piping, and a 20G turbocharger for Subaru. Most Turbo XS valves and solenoids are built to replace a specific factory part, so confirm your vehicle and year before ordering. All Turbo XS products in this collection are for off-road and competition use.

Who is Turbo XS?

Turbo XS is an aftermarket performance company that started in 1999, building parts for turbocharged vehicles. It made its name in the Subaru and Mitsubishi communities and now covers a range of turbo platforms from several manufacturers. Turbo XS is best known for its blow off valves, especially its Hybrid design, along with intercoolers, couplers, and other forced induction parts.

What Turbo XS parts do we carry?

Hybrid blow off valves. Turbo XS's signature product. A Hybrid valve replaces the factory bypass valve and vents part of the released air to atmosphere while recirculating the rest back into the intake. You get an audible release between shifts, while the engine management system still sees most of the air it measured. Applications include the 2022+ Subaru WRX and the 2018+ Kia Stinger GT. Turbo XS Blow Off Valves

Recirculating bypass valves (RBV). Fully recirculating valves for owners who want factory-like behavior with a stronger, faster-acting valve, such as the Type XS RBV for the 2015 to 2021 Subaru WRX.

Blow off valve accessories. Springs, flanges, seals, and service parts for Turbo XS valves. Turbo XS Blow Off Valve Accessories

Boost control solenoids. Vehicle-specific replacement solenoids for the 2002 to 2007 and 2008 to 2014 Subaru WRX, the 2015 to 2021 WRX, the 2008 to 2021 STI, and the 2008 to 2015 Mitsubishi Evolution X.

Intercooler kits and charge piping. Front mount intercooler kits and piping for Subaru and other platforms. Turbo XS Intercooler Kits

Turbochargers. Includes a 20G turbocharger for Subaru EJ engines. Turbo XS Turbochargers

Hybrid, recirculating, or vent to atmosphere?

Recirculating valves return all released air to the intake. They act like the factory valve, which keeps air metering accurate on MAF-equipped engines.

Vent to atmosphere valves release all the air outside. They make the loudest sound but can cause a rich stumble or stall between shifts on MAF engines, because the ECU already counted that air.

Hybrid valves split the difference: they vent part of the air and recirculate the rest. That gives you the sound while keeping drivability closer to stock.

If your car uses a MAF sensor and you want sound without stalling, a Hybrid valve is typically the best fit.

  • Match the exact vehicle. Turbo XS valves and solenoids are built to replace a specific factory part. A valve for a 2015 to 2021 WRX won't fit a 2022+ WRX, and solenoids change between generations.
  • Pick the valve style for how you drive. Choose recirculating for quiet, stock-like behavior, Hybrid for sound with good drivability, or a full vent valve only where your engine management can handle it.
  • Check whether a calibration is needed. Boost control solenoids may need a tune that supports them. Confirm before installing.
  • Fix boost leaks first. A torn factory bypass valve diaphragm is a common cause of low boost on modified cars. Replacing it is often the first step before larger upgrades.

Installation notes

  • Install the valve in the factory location using the included hardware and gasket or O-ring.
  • Check the vacuum reference line for cracks and secure it to the valve.
  • Torque bolts evenly to avoid distorting the valve flange.
  • Install solenoids with the correct port routing, and load any required calibration before driving hard.
  • Pressure-test the charge system after installing a valve or intercooler kit.
  • Watch boost and air/fuel ratio on the first drives to confirm everything is working.

Common problems Turbo XS parts address

A leaking or torn factory bypass valve diaphragm, which causes low boost and inconsistent power at higher boost levels.

Compressor surge or flutter when the throttle closes.

Boost spikes or inconsistent boost from a worn factory solenoid.

Heat soak from a small factory intercooler.

Frequently Asked Questions

Turbo XS questions usually come down to which valve style to choose, fitment, and maintenance. The answers below cover Hybrid valves, recirculating valves, boost control solenoids, maintenance, and legality. Confirm fitment for your exact vehicle on each product page, and contact our team for help.

What is a Turbo XS Hybrid blow off valve?

A valve that vents part of the released air to atmosphere and recirculates the rest, so you get an audible release with drivability close to stock.

Will a Hybrid valve cause stalling on my MAF car?

Factory valves can leak or tear at higher boost. A Turbo XS valve is built to hold boost and respond quickly.

Do Turbo XS boost control solenoids need a tune?

Some setups require a calibration that supports the solenoid. Check the product page and your tuning setup before installing.

Do Turbo XS valves need maintenance?

Inspect seals and O-rings periodically and keep the valve clean for consistent operation.

Which vehicles do Turbo XS parts fit?

Subaru WRX and STI, Mitsubishi Evolution X, Kia Stinger GT, and other turbocharged models. Each part is built for specific years.
