AWE Tuning has engineered performance parts for European cars since 1991, with research, development, and manufacturing at its headquarters in Pennsylvania. Shop AWE performance intercoolers for the Porsche 996, 997, and 991 Turbo, including GT2 and Turbo S models, and ColdFront heat exchangers and intercoolers for the Audi B9 A4, A5, S4, S5, and SQ5. You'll also find AWE intercoolers for the Audi 8R Q5 2.0T and 2.7T, ColdFront reservoirs and protection screens, and a DV adapter kit for the Audi 2.5T. Each part is built for a specific model and generation. All AWE products in this collection are for off-road and competition use.
AWE Tuning was founded in 1991 by Todd Sager in Pennsylvania, originally as Air & Water Enterprises, and grew from a single-bay shop serving European car enthusiasts into a global performance brand. AWE designs, develops, and manufactures its products in the US at its headquarters in Horsham, Pennsylvania. It's best known for exhausts, carbon fiber intakes, and performance intercoolers, with a focus on Porsche, Audi, BMW, and other premium cars.
Porsche performance intercoolers. Replacement intercoolers for Porsche 911 Turbo models, which use side-mounted intercoolers behind the rear wheels:
Audi intercoolers and ColdFront parts. Intercoolers and ColdFront parts for:
ColdFront reservoirs and protection screens. Coolant reservoirs and protective screens for ColdFront systems.
DV adapter kit. An adapter kit for the diverter valve on Audi 2.5T engines.
Some engines cool charge air with an air-to-air intercooler, where outside air passes over the core. Others use an air-to-water system, where coolant carries heat from the charge air cooler to a front-mounted heat exchanger.
AWE's ColdFront line upgrades air-to-water systems with larger bar and plate cores and end tanks, increasing coolant volume and frontal area. More cooling capacity typically keeps intake air temperatures lower and more consistent during repeated pulls and hot weather.
Heat soak on tuned Porsche and Audi engines during repeated pulls.
Limited cooling capacity in factory air-to-water systems.
Rising intake temperatures that cause the ECU to reduce timing and power.
AWE questions usually come down to fitment by generation, ColdFront, and tuning. The answers below cover the brand, Porsche generations, ColdFront, tuning, and legality. Contact our team for help.

No. AWE makes separate intercoolers for the 996, 997, 997.2, and 991 Turbo.
AWE's line of upgraded heat exchangers and intercoolers for air-to-water charge cooling systems, with larger cores and more coolant volume.
Typically no. They work with the factory calibration, though tuned cars benefit most.
