Sinister Diesel builds diesel truck parts at its California headquarters, and its charge pipe kits are a common fix for failure-prone factory piping on Ford Power Stroke trucks. Shop Sinister Diesel charge pipe kits and individual hot side and cold side pipes for the 6.0L, 6.4L, and 6.7L Power Stroke, including the 6.7L High Output, plus a 6.0L intercooler pipe kit with intake elbow. Pipes are 6061 aluminum with 4-ply silicone boots and come in Sinister Blue or Sinister Gray. Each kit fits a specific engine and year range. Some Sinister products carry a CARB EO number; most are for off-road use only.
Sinister Diesel started when its founders were working on their own trucks and saw room to improve on factory parts. The company now builds a wide range of diesel components for Ford, Ram, and GM trucks, and dealers note its parts are manufactured and tested at its California headquarters. With us, Sinister's catalog focuses on charge piping for Ford Power Stroke engines.
Charge pipe kits. Complete hot side and cold side pipe sets that replace the factory piping between the turbo, intercooler, and engine. Kits typically include both pipes, silicone boots, and stainless steel spring clamps. Applications include:
Sinister Diesel Intercooler Pipe Kits
Individual hot side and cold side pipes. Single pipes for owners replacing just the side that failed or upgrading one side at a time. The cold side pipe on the 6.7L is the most commonly replaced.
Finishes. Most pipes come in Sinister Blue or Sinister Gray powder coat. The finish is the only difference.
The charge pipes carry boosted air from the turbo to the intercooler and from the intercooler to the engine. On the 6.7L Power Stroke in particular, the factory cold side pipe is known to burst, crack, or separate, which causes a sudden loss of boost and power, often while towing.
Sinister's pipes use 6061 aluminum with mandrel bends, 4-ply silicone boots rated to 400 psi, and stainless steel spring clamps. On a stock truck, the main benefit is reliability. On a tuned truck, larger, smoother pipes can also help airflow.
A full kit replaces both sides at once. It's the most complete fix and suits tuned trucks or trucks that tow heavy.
A cold side pipe is the most common single replacement on the 6.7L, since that's the factory pipe most known to fail.
A hot side pipe suits owners who've already replaced the cold side or want to upgrade one piece at a time.
A burst, cracked, or separated factory cold side pipe on the 6.7L Power Stroke.
Blown or leaking intercooler boots that cause low boost and black smoke.
Restrictive factory piping on tuned trucks.
Sinister Diesel questions usually come down to fitment, kit versus single pipe, and finishes. The answers below cover the 6.7L cold side pipe, kit contents, finishes, the High Output engine, and legality. Confirm fitment on each product page, and contact our team for help.
The factory cold side pipe is known to burst, crack, or separate under boost and heat, causing a sudden loss of power.
Typically hot side and cold side pipes, silicone boots, and stainless steel spring clamps.
Yes. Sinister makes a separate kit for the 2023 and later 6.7L High Output engine.
Typically no. They work with the factory calibration.
