BD Diesel builds turbochargers and turbo kits for diesel pickups, with a focus on towing durability and EGT control. Shop BD Screamer performance turbos, stock replacement VGT turbos for the 6.7L Cummins, Iron Horn single turbo kits for the 5.9L Cummins, Howler VGT conversion kits, and Power Stroke Screamer retrofit kits. You'll also find install parts, including turbo mounting gasket kits, intercooler hose and clamp kits, turbo blankets, and VGT controllers. Every BD turbo is matched to a specific engine and model year, and cab and chassis trucks often use different units than pickups. Some BD parts carry a CARB EO number, while others are for off-road use only.
BD Diesel Performance, often called BD Power, is a Canadian diesel performance manufacturer founded in 1972 and headquartered in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The company started in diesel fuel systems and drivetrain work and grew into complete turbo solutions for light-duty Cummins, Duramax, and Power Stroke trucks. BD designs, builds, and balances its turbos and certifies select part numbers for emissions compliance.
Stock replacement turbos. Direct replacements for factory VGT turbos, such as the HE351 on 2007.5 to 2012 Ram 6.7L Cummins pickups and the HE300VG on later trucks. These keep factory boost control and emissions equipment, and they're the right choice when a stock turbo fails and the truck is otherwise stock. BD Diesel Turbochargers
Screamer performance turbos. BD's Screamer line keeps a stock appearance and factory mounting but uses larger compressor and turbine wheels. BD typically re-machines OEM-style housings to fit its Ballistic Billet compressor wheels and Low-MOI (low inertia) turbine wheels, and VGT versions ship with a new or calibrated actuator. The goal is quicker spool and lower EGTs than stock at the same tune, with more headroom for tuned trucks.
Screamer retrofit kits for the 6.7L Power Stroke. Stage 1 and Stage 2 Screamer kits for 2011 to 2016 Ford 6.7L Power Stroke trucks.
Iron Horn turbo kits. Fixed-geometry single turbo kits for the 2003 to 2007 5.9L Cummins, built around BorgWarner S300SX-E frame turbos (S361, S363, S364, and S366 variants) with different compressor sizes and turbine A/R options. Iron Horn kits typically include the manifold, oil lines, and hardware for the swap. They suit trucks with upgraded fueling that need more airflow and lower drive pressure than the stock turbo can deliver.
Howler VGT kits. The 2003 to 2007 5.9L Cummins came with a fixed-geometry turbo. BD's Howler kits convert it to a variable geometry turbo controlled by a standalone controller, aiming for quicker spool and more control over boost. The complete install kit includes the controller.
Install and supporting parts. Turbo mounting gasket kits, intercooler hose and clamp kits for the 6.0L and 6.4L Power Stroke, turbo blankets, boost controllers, and service parts.
Choose a stock replacement if your turbo failed, the truck is stock or close to it, and you want factory drivability and emissions compatibility.
Choose a Screamer if you're replacing a turbo on a tuned or lightly modified truck and want better spool, lower EGTs when towing, and room to grow, without changing the factory layout.
Choose an Iron Horn or other full kit if you've upgraded injectors and fueling and need more airflow than a stock-location turbo can supply. These typically require tuning and supporting modifications.
BD Diesel questions usually come down to fitment, whether a tune is needed, and which type of turbo fits the way you use your truck. The answers below cover Screamer versus stock replacement turbos, Iron Horn and Howler kits, cab and chassis fitment, and emissions compliance. Confirm fitment for your exact truck on each product page, and contact our team for help.
Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. BD Diesel has built diesel performance parts since 1972.
Yes. Screamers install in the stock location with factory-style connections, and VGT versions typically include a new or calibrated actuator.
Not to install. A tune typically helps a Screamer reach its airflow potential and manage EGT and smoke on modified trucks.
A stock replacement restores factory performance. A Screamer keeps the stock layout but uses larger wheels for quicker spool, lower EGTs, and more headroom.
Not always. Some years use different turbos, so check the body style on the product page.
